RSPCA Black Cat Café is the cafe at RSPCA Queensland's Brisbane Animal Care Campus on Wacol Station Road in Wacol, in Brisbane's south-west. Adoptable cats live in enclosed play areas built into the cafe, with an indoor section and an outdoor section, so diners can watch them climb and play while they eat. All of the cats are desexed, health checked and available for adoption through the RSPCA, and visitors who connect with one can arrange to adopt it on the same campus, which also has the adoption centre, an op shop and a pet store. The cafe serves breakfast, lunch and coffee to eat in or take away, with vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free options and free-range, higher-welfare ingredients, and all profits go to the RSPCA's animal care. There is no entry fee and no booking. It is open every day, with shorter hours on weekends.

EggYolk Cat Lounge & Pet Grooming is a cat lounge on Station Road in Sunnybank, on Brisbane's southside, next to The House Call Vet, with free parking at the Oasis Medical Centre car park. Formerly PKP Cat Cafe, it is named after a former resident cat. The lounge has around a dozen resident cats, from relaxed adults to playful younger cats, plus cat toys and board games for visitors. It is a lounge rather than a cafe: no food is allowed inside, though bottled drinks are, and cat treats can be bought on site. Visits run in fixed 90-minute sessions starting at 10 AM, 11:30 AM, 1 PM, 2:30 PM and 4 PM. Online booking is recommended, weekday walk-ins are taken only when space allows, and there are no walk-ins on weekends. Children 12 and under must be supervised. The business also grooms cats and dogs and hosts after-hours events.

Petacular Mt Ommaney is a pet shop in the Mt Ommaney Centre on Dandenong Road, Mount Ommaney, in Brisbane's western suburbs, beside the Kmart tyre and auto centre. Alongside pet food and accessories and a large reptile room, it has a kitty room where visitors pay a small entry fee to sit with and pat the shop's kittens and cats, and a puppy room that works the same way. The kittens and cats in the room are sold by the shop, so this is a commercial pet shop rather than a rescue. Entry to the kitty room is valid for the whole day instead of a timed session, and no booking is needed. There is no food or drink service. The shop is open every day, with shorter hours on weekends, and it also sells puppies, birds, fish and a wide range of reptiles.
