Lə Gattarə is a cat café and wine bar on Via Giosuè Carducci in Bergamo's lower town, run by two owners who share the space with their three resident cats. The room is large and sparsely furnished so the cats can wander freely, and there is no time limit on visits. Reservations are not taken. The small kitchen is vegetarian, with vegan and gluten-free options such as veggie burgers and seasonal dishes, alongside natural wines from women winemakers, beer and kombucha. Espresso is deliberately left off the menu to encourage slower visits, though other coffee drinks are served. A shelf of books and board games is available, and the venue hosts a book club, workshops and fundraising events for local groups. It describes itself as an inclusive, LGBTQ+ safe space. Guests are asked not to pick up the cats.
