Waneko Cafe
Waneko Cafe is a small, home-style rescue cat cafe in Mitsuzawa Nishimachi, Kanagawa Ward, Yokohama, five minutes on foot from Mitsuzawa-kamicho Station on the Blue Line. Every visit is a private one-hour booking, so a group, or a single guest, has the room and its cats to themselves. Its five resident Japanese cats include Nyanmaru, a large tom who has helped raise more than 40 rescued cats, and they are joined by adoptable cats, most of them from the Yokohama City Animal Welfare Center, with adoptions handled through the group Waneko-kai. Reservations are made by 8 PM the day before through the website or X, and payment is in cash. The cafe currently opens on weekends only. Children of elementary school age and younger are not admitted. Food is not served, but spill-proof drinks may be brought in.
