Two Wrasslin' Cats Coffee House & Cafe
Two Wrasslin' Cats is a coffee house and cafe in a cobalt blue house from 1784 on Town Street in East Haddam, a few miles from Devil's Hopyard State Park. Opened in 2013 by Mark Thiede, a retired molecular biologist, and named after his cats Bruno and Larry, it serves breakfast, sandwiches, coffee and baked goods in rooms filled with cat art and memorabilia. Six sibling cats adopted by the owner live in a separate cat room that can be seen through glass doors from the cafe. Customers can visit the cats in small groups, about six people at a time, and a donation is requested; on busy days there can be a wait. The cats are residents and are not for adoption. There is outdoor seating, and the cafe is open daily except Tuesday until mid-afternoon.
