SPACE CAT coffee

Space Cat Coffee, located in the Mercês neighborhood of Curitiba, Brazil, proudly holds the title of the first cat cafe in southern Brazil, opened on February 15, 2022, by founders Andria Thalia Rodrigues de Oliveira and Murilo Graf Gamborgi. This cozy spot offers a stellar experience where visitors can savor a variety of specialty coffees—think espresso, cappuccinos, and unique creations like the oversized “Biggest White Cat” drink—alongside a menu of tasty treats such as pão de queijo, brownies, cookies, and sandwiches, all crafted with care. The cafe features a dedicated “gatario” or cat lounge, a separate area with a front garden and recreational space where up to seven guests at a time can interact with adoptable cats for a small fee of R$11 for 20 minutes, ensuring a peaceful coexistence with the culinary side of the operation. Partnered with the Paraíso dos Gatos project, an NGO initiative by the founders, the cafe rescues street cats and those surrendered by owners, providing them with a safe haven until they find forever homes, all while maintaining a pet-friendly vibe that even welcomes visitors’ own animals in a separate area.
