Respublika Kotov is a large cat cafe on Liteyny Prospekt in central Saint Petersburg, a few minutes on foot from Mayakovskaya and Dostoyevskaya metro stations. Opened in 2016 as the second venue of the Cats Republic project, a branch of the Cat Museum in Vsevolozhsk, it has room for up to 40 cats at a time, from yard cats to pedigree breeds, and every one of them is looking for a new home. The interior recreates a Saint Petersburg courtyard and rooftop with cats, with an interactive lift that guests can draw on, and the decor uses cats from the paintings of Vladimir Rumyantsev. Visits are booked in advance and last one hour; the cafe serves drinks, desserts and hot dishes, and there is a large souvenir shop. The space also hosts concerts, talks, workshops and adoption events.

The space is divided by a glass partition into a cafe zone and a cat zone, and guests move freely between them. Visits are paid by time, with a first half-hour charge and a per-minute rate after that. Like the original cafe on the Fontanka, it works as a time-cafe: visitors pay by the minute and tea, coffee and biscuits are included, with no minimum stay. The cats are rescues from the Ostrovok shelter and all of them can be adopted.
