Gorod Koshek

Gorod Koshek is a cat cafe and open-type shelter on the Admiralty Canal Embankment, next to New Holland Island in the Admiralteysky District of Saint Petersburg. It is the city branch of a project that has rehomed more than 370 cats since 2019 and also runs a cafe in Kudrovo. The cats were homeless, and each one goes through quarantine, vaccination, microchipping and neutering before moving in; all are looking for families, and adoption involves an application and interview. The space is divided by a glass partition into a cafe zone and a cat zone, and guests move freely between them. Visits are paid by time, with a first half-hour charge and a per-minute rate after that. Guests change into slippers and wash their hands before meeting the cats, and children under 14 come with an adult. The project also offers a cat-sitting service.
