Regal Cat Café is Calgary, Alberta’s first cat café, located in the vibrant Kensington neighborhood, where it combines the joy of coffee with the comfort of adoptable cats. Owned by the MEOW Foundation, a local cat rescue organization, the café houses 6-12 cats at a time in a dedicated “Kitty Kingdom,” a separate, glass-walled space where they can play and relax while visitors observe or pay a fee to interact with them. The café offers a variety of locally sourced treats, including vegan and gluten-free options, alongside coffee and tea, with all proceeds supporting the foundation’s mission to rescue and rehome cats—having facilitated over 1,000 adoptions since opening in 2017. Beyond a spot for "fuzz therapy," it hosts unique events like yoga with cats and painting sessions, fostering a community hub that celebrates feline companionship and local craftsmanship.
