Regal Cat Café
Regal Cat Café is a cat cafe on 10 Street NW in Kensington, Calgary, a short walk from Sunnyside CTrain station. It opened in 2017 as the city's first cat cafe, and since June 2022 it has been owned by the MEOW Foundation, a Calgary cat rescue charity, so proceeds from drinks, food and cat visits go to the rescue. It serves locally roasted coffee, tea and baked goods. Six to twelve adoptable MEOW cats, rotated every few weeks, live in the Kitty Kingdom, a separate room with its own ventilation that can be seen from the cafe. Visits to the cat room are 30-minute sessions with a fee that is higher on weekends; reservations are recommended and socks are required. More than 1,500 cats have been adopted from the cafe. Events include cat yoga and paint nights.
