Nikukyuzu Cafe

Nikukyuzu Cafe is an adoption-based rescue cat cafe in Aono, in the west of Numazu, run by the cat rescue group Nikukyuzu and opened in August 2025. It doubles as a casual diner, serving set meals such as grilled dried fish and fried chicken, desserts, soft drinks and daytime beer and sours, and guests can eat while watching the cats or simply come for a meal. The cats live in a raised tatami-style area where visitors take off their shoes and sit at the cats' level, charged per 30 minutes with half-hour extensions and a lower rate for children up to junior high school age. Socks are required. Visitors interested in adopting can ask the staff. Booking is recommended, especially on weekends and holidays, when the cafe gets busy. Proceeds go to the group's rescue work.
