Neko Chawan
Neko Chawan is a rescue cat cafe in an old farmhouse in Haishi, a quiet village west of central Fukuchiyama, about five minutes on foot from the Haishi bus stop. It opened in spring 2024. The cats were abandoned or born to strays, and apart from four resident staff cats all of them are looking for new homes; the cafe works with local rescue groups and arranges adoptions for a fee covering the cats' costs. The cat room is separated from the cafe space by glass, so visitors with allergies can watch the cats from the cafe side. Time in the cat room is charged per 30 minutes, with a set that includes a drink, and the cafe can also be used just for drinks and homemade sweets. Socks are required in the cat room. The cafe is closed on Mondays and Fridays and has parking for ten cars.
