UCP Unicat Rescue Project
Kampot43 mi / 70 km
UCP Unicat Rescue Project is a cat sanctuary in Andoung Khmer village, about ten minutes' drive from the centre of Kampot. Founded in 2018 by Monika Lienert, it rescues sick, abandoned and stray cats from local villages and pagodas, treats and sterilises them, and finds them new homes. Visitors can drop in during the afternoon visiting hours to meet the cats and kittens, which roam freely around the grounds and are used to being cuddled, along with a few rescued dogs. Most of the cats are available for adoption. There is no fixed entry fee, and donations towards food and vet bills are welcome. It is not a cafe in the usual sense, though the Facebook page mentions snacks and drinks. The project also offers pet boarding and pet sitting, and it is closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
