Merlix - The Cats Café is Liège’s first cat cafe, located at Rue des Clarisses 50, 4000 Liège, Belgium, offering a cozy escape where guests can enjoy gourmet treats alongside adoptable feline companions. Open Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM—closed Sunday and Monday—this cafe, launched in March 2018 by founders Camille and Antoine, features a chic, feline-friendly space with a double entry sas, climbing walls, and plush seating. The menu boasts organic teas and coffees, indulgent hot chocolates, healthy bowls (vegetarian or otherwise), Japanese pancakes, and smoothies, with a focus on quality, locally sourced ingredients. Partnering with shelters, Merlix houses rescue cats awaiting adoption, providing a serene spot for visitors to unwind, savor a latte, and perhaps find a new furry friend—all while supporting a mission to give abandoned cats a second chance.
