Kawiarnia KOCI GAJ
Kawiarnia KOCI GAJ is a cat cafe on Spadek Street in Zamość, opened in July 2025 as the first cat cafe in the city. It is home to five resident cats. Its interior was designed by a former deputy director of the Zamość zoo: instead of wall shelves, the cats climb on imitation trees covered in natural bark, with oak branches running for tens of metres under the ceiling from a central trunk almost a metre wide. A 400-litre vivarium with an Amazon-style aquarium lets the cats sit inside a glass dome among about 180 fish. The cafe serves coffee, tea, home-made cakes and sweet or savoury snack boxes, and has a corner with board games and books. Entry is for children aged 12 and over, pets are not allowed, and tables can be reserved online. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday.

It was opened in May 2015 by a family displaced from Crimea, first on Stepana Bandery Street, and moved to its current address in 2020. Around 20 resident cats of about a dozen breeds live here, among them Maine Coons, Canadian Sphynxes, Scottish Folds and Straights, a Devon Rex, an Abyssinian, an Ocicat and a British golden chinchilla. The cats roam freely among the tables. There is no entry fee; visitors order from a full menu of coffee, desserts, pizza, pasta and Ukrainian dishes, and can buy treats to feed the cats. Two of the cafe's three rooms are in the basement, which also serves as a shelter during air-raid alerts, and the cafe has stayed open throughout the war. It also sells cat souvenirs.

Opened on 30 May 2026, it is both a cafe and a foster home for homeless cats taken in by two local rescue groups, Jędrzejowo-Koteczkowo and Dom Tymczasowy Pati, whose volunteers trap, sterilise and rehome cats from Kielce and the surrounding area.
