Just Cats Adoptions
Just Cats Adoptions is the main adoption centre and cattery of Just Cats Tasmania, a cat rescue that also has centres in Mowbray and near Burnie. It is on Pateena Road in farmland north of Longford, about 15 minutes' drive south of Launceston. Besides people looking to adopt, members of the public are welcome to drop in and spend time with the cats and kittens in its care, and the centre doubles as a small cat cafe: a coffee from the in-house machine cost $4 in October 2026, and on some open days hot and cold drinks and sweet treats are served. No booking is needed during opening hours, and the centre is closed on Wednesdays. All the cats are up for adoption, from playful kittens to older adults, and staff help visitors find a cat that suits them. Just Cats also runs a boarding cattery on the same site.

Grounded Paws Cat Cafe is a rescue cat cafe and adoption lounge on McMahon Street in Traralgon, in the Latrobe Valley of Gippsland. It is run by Grounded Paws Animal Rescue, a volunteer not-for-profit group that takes in cats and kittens at risk at the local pound; the cafe opened in June 2020. About 30 cats and kittens live in an upstairs cat lounge decorated in an Alice in Wonderland theme, and all of them are available for adoption. Entry to the lounge is a small fee per 30-minute session, and no booking is needed; if the lounge is full, the wait is usually short and visitors can have coffee and food such as pies in the cafe section. Volunteers answer questions about the cats. The lounge hosts movie nights in the school holidays, and children's tea-party birthday parties, which sometimes use Saturday afternoons. It is closed on public holidays.
