Gatos and Beans Cat Cafe is a cage-free lounge offering visitors a chance to interact with adoptable rescue cats from Kitty Kat Haven & Rescue. As Alabama’s first cat cafe, it provides a 1,500-square-foot space where guests can book one-hour sessions for $13 per person to spend time with the cats, with each visit including a choice of drip coffee, tea, water, or a soft drink. The cafe features a separate coffee shop area serving a variety of beverages like Maine Coon Mocha and Gato Latte ($2.50-$5.50), with a layout that keeps the cat room distinct yet visible through windows for health compliance. Founded in 2019 by Kelli and Stephen Steward, it supports cat adoptions—nearly 300 to date—and offers private bookings for events like birthday parties, with reservations strongly recommended due to a 12-person capacity limit.
