貓町珈琲 Cattown Coffee Stand
貓町珈琲 Cattown Coffee Stand is a small specialty coffee stand in a lane off Yi 2nd Road in Zhongzheng District, Keelung, about ten minutes' walk from the Miaokou night market. Open since 2013, it is a quiet, unpretentious place loved for its two resident cats: Tom, a laid-back, heavyset blue-and-white tuxedo cat found near the old Haimen fortress, and the shyer Xiaohua, who will settle on guests who sit still. The cats are territorial, so please give them space. Seating is limited and shared, dine-in visits last 90 minutes, outside food isn't allowed and you clear your own table. The menu covers espresso drinks, pour-overs with a choice of roast, the citrusy Sicilian coffee and vegetable quiche; food must be ordered with a drink, and only coffee is served on Sundays.

New Taipei City5.9 mi / 9.5 km
貓散步219 Empress Gallery is a gallery cafe in an old house at No. 219 Chailiao Road in Houtong Cat Village, Ruifang District, New Taipei City. Founded by a dermatologist, it combines art, coffee and cats, and around a dozen cats live here, many of them rescued village strays, including some receiving ongoing medical care. A board on the wall lists the cats, and those marked with a cross are shy or resting and should be left alone; the rest are happy to be petted. Each guest orders at least one drink, from about NT$100, and the small menu includes mini pancakes and two set meals. Payment is cash only.
