Cats&Coffee
Cats&Coffee is a cat cafe on Dolná Street in the pedestrian centre of Banská Bystrica, set back in a small passage off the street; guests ring the bell and staff open the door so the cats cannot slip out. The cafe reopened under its current name in June 2025, in premises that earlier housed the city's first cat club, and it focuses on rescuing cats: every cat living there is available for adoption, and the cafe hosts talks on cat rescue and care. Visitors can order coffee, lemonades and cakes in a cosy room with armchairs and a fireplace. Staff ask guests not to pick up the cats or move them from their resting places, and to let the cats come to them. Children are admitted from age seven with a parent, and payment is in cash only.
