Catmosphere Cat Cafe

Catmosphere is a rescue cat cafe on Foveaux Street in Surry Hills, a short walk from Central Station. Opened in 2015 and known as Sydney's original cat cafe, it works with the small Sydney rescue group The Cat Sanctuary and acts as a long-term foster and forever home for its cats. Visitors choose between several rooms: the Cat Lounge with more than a dozen resident adult cats (ages 8 and up), the tiki-themed Treehouse with adoptable young cats, and Kittyland with rescue kittens (both ages 5 and up). There is also Catflix, a small cinema where guests watch a film from floor lounges with the cats around them, wearing wireless headphones so the room stays quiet; cat yoga classes are on hold. Sessions are timed and include a drink, and booking ahead is advised. Kittens and junior cats can be adopted through The Cat Sanctuary.
