CATEA
CATEA is a Chinese teahouse with resident Ragdoll cats on Sin Ming Road, a few minutes on foot from Upper Thomson MRT. Opened in 2024, it serves oolong, green, black, floral and gongfu teas with pastries in a quiet room where the fluffy, calm Ragdolls roam among the tables and come to guests for attention. There is no entry fee; instead each guest orders at least one tea. There is no strict time limit, although visits at busy times usually last one to two hours. Seating is limited, so reservations through the website are recommended, and walk-ins are welcome when there is space. Children must be at least seven years old, and guests under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Weekday afternoons are the quietest time to visit. The teahouse is closed on Mondays.

Fluffydolls Catfe is a quiet pedigree cat lounge on Balestier Road, next door to its own licensed cattery. Its resident cats, mostly long-haired breeds from breeders in the UK and Italy, include Ragdolls, British Shorthairs, British Longhairs, Siberians and Maine Coons, and they live full time in the climate-controlled space. Sessions are kept small so the cats stay relaxed, and visitors are asked to sit back and let the cats approach in their own time. Entry is charged per person for one- or two-hour sessions and includes a drink, and ice cream cookies are sold separately. To keep the atmosphere calm, guests must be at least 12 years old. Reservations are strongly recommended, although walk-ins are taken when space allows. The cafe also runs pilates classes with the cats. The resident cats are not for sale; kittens are sold separately by the Fluffydolls cattery.

The cats belong to the owners' household and include Kiko, Tiger and Black, joined recently by younger cats such as Miso. Visitors book semi-guided acrylic painting sessions in the studio while the cats wander, nap and sometimes sit beside the canvases, and the hosts help beginners with their artwork and take photos of guests with the cats. Each session includes a canvas, paints and a drink, and cat treats can be bought when the cats' feeding schedule allows. Sessions last about two hours for adults and shorter for children; children seven and older may attend on their own, and younger children need a parent present.
