Cat Cafe Aphrodite
Cat Cafe Aphrodite, which calls itself a small cat cafe, is in a traditional house in Tsuruhashi, Ikuno Ward, a few minutes on foot from Tsuruhashi Station. It has about ten pedigree cats, including an American Shorthair, a Bengal, a Singapura and a Chartreux, plus Maine Coons, and the cafe does not keep rescue cats. Visits are charged per person per hour, and each hour is a private booking for one group, so reserving ahead is recommended. Time with the Maine Coons is limited to 30 minutes, and they are not brought into rooms with small children. Children of elementary school age and younger must come with a guardian, and feeding the cats is not allowed. The building also houses Megami no Naoraiahi, a tatami-room restaurant serving Italian and vegan shojin-style course meals by reservation.
