不是貓咖
不是貓咖 (literally "Not a Cat Café") is a second-floor café at No. 10-1, Lane 26, Section 2, Zhongshan North Road, in Taipei's Zhongshan District, about two minutes' walk from Zhongshan MRT station. The owner opened it as a home for a paralysed cat, and four cats now live there, including a cow-patterned cat who gets around in a small wheeled cart. The cats have their own rest room and some are shy, so guests can sit near them and watch them, but the café asks that they are not picked up, chased or crowded. The café serves Taiwanese teas, hand-baked pastries and desserts, brunch plates, pizza and tea-flavoured soft-serve. There is a minimum order and no time limit. It is open Tuesday to Sunday.

The bright, tidy room holds a library of more than a hundred board games, and friendly staff teach the rules, so it suits newcomers as well as regular players. Play is charged by time, at around NT$100 per hour, with day passes available, and the bar serves carefully made drinks. Guests must be at least 12 years old. It is a good pick for a group that wants an afternoon of games with feline company rather than a dedicated cat lounge. Booking a table ahead is recommended.

Tables are fairly close together and weekends get busy, so weekdays are quieter for reading or working with the cats. The food menu has recently been limited to desserts, so eat beforehand if you want a meal.
