Kitty Café Birmingham
Birmingham, West Midlands
Kitty Café Birmingham is a cat cafe on the upper mall of Grand Central, the shopping centre above Birmingham New Street Station. It is one of three branches of Kitty Café, a self-funded cat rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming organisation that also runs cafes in Nottingham and Leeds, and it was the first cat cafe to open in Birmingham. Rescue cats roam a large lounge with sofas, armchairs, climbing shelves and toys, and visitors sit at tables among them. Entry is a welfare charge per person, with lower rates for children and on term-time weekdays, and a visit is about an hour. Booking online is recommended, though walk-ins are taken when there is space. Children are welcome but under-16s must be supervised by an adult. The menu covers hot and cold meals, afternoon tea, cream tea, milkshakes and cakes, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. Payment is by card only.

The Qattery Cafe & Cats
Wolverhampton, West Midlands
The Qattery Cafe & Cats is Wolverhampton's first cat cafe, on Victoria Street in the city centre next to the Mander Centre. The ground floor is an ordinary artisan coffee shop open to walk-ins, serving hot food, sandwiches, cakes and speciality coffee, while the former function room upstairs has been turned into a lounge for 19 rescue cats. All of the cats were rescued from the streets of Qatar and brought to the UK by the owner, and they live at the cafe permanently. Visits to the cat room are booked in 30-minute sessions with a per-person fee, and two back-to-back sessions give a longer stay. Children are welcome, with no more than two under-10s per adult and under-14s accompanied, and guests are asked not to chase or pick up the cats. The cat room is reached by 21 stairs, so access is limited.
A Slice of Purrfection
Solihull, West Midlands
A Slice of Purrfection is a cat cafe on Poplar Road in central Solihull, a few minutes' walk from the High Street. Ten resident rescue cats roam freely around the cafe while guests eat and drink, and they are permanent members of the household rather than cats for adoption. Visits are booked by table online for one-hour sessions with a per-person entry fee, and the last slot starts an hour before closing. Children under two enter free and under-10s must be supervised by an adult. Guests may stroke the cats gently but are asked not to pick them up or feed them human food, though cat treats can be bought for a small donation. The cafe serves coffee, cakes, light meals and afternoon tea, and a book at the tables lists each cat's name and preferences. It is licensed by Solihull Council and closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
