It opened in 2015 as the city's first cat cafe, and its founder, Kanchan Singh, later added a second branch in Los Angeles. More than 25 adoptable cats and kittens, rescued from overcrowded shelters through partner Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, live in the upstairs lounge. Visits are ticketed in 15-, 30- and 70-minute sessions, with higher prices on weekends, and every person entering needs a ticket and a signed waiver. Groups are limited to six, children under 7 are not admitted, and private events are available for larger parties. Snacks and drinks are sold before each session but not prepared on site. Booking ahead is recommended. The cafe closed in February 2026 and reopened in May 2026, after its staff unionized.

Meow ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​‌​​‌‌‌‌​‌‌​‌‌​‌​​​‌‌​‌​​‌​‌​‌‌‌‌⁠Maison, also written Mèo Maison, is a French chateau-themed cat cafe and adoption lounge on Wisconsin Avenue NW in Georgetown, Washington DC. Opened in November 2023, it is home to about 15 to 25 rescued cats and kittens from Lucky Dog Animal Rescue, which handles all adoptions. More than 550 cats have been adopted from the lounge. The cats arrive spayed or neutered, vaccinated and health-checked. Visits are booked as timed tickets, with weekday and weekend prices and short 15-minute slots on weekdays, and walk-ins are welcome when there is space. All visitors sign a waiver, minors need an adult to sign for them, and groups larger than six book a private event. Coffee, tea and lattes are served, and the lounge offers weekday coworking passes and monthly memberships. Events include cat yoga, mug painting and plush-making workshops. Free two-hour street parking and paid garages are nearby.
