Catfeine Cat Cafe
Murfreesboro, Tennessee
Catfeine Cat Cafe is a cat lounge and foster home on Cason Lane in Murfreesboro, southeast of Nashville, where 15 to 20 adoptable cats from local rescue groups live cage-free while they wait for homes. Visits are one hour, charged per person, with up to 12 guests per hour; reservations are strongly encouraged and walk-ins are taken only when space allows. Guests must be 10 or older to book, and children aged 7 to 9 can come with an adult for a short walk-in visit when it is quiet. Shoes come off before entering, so socks are needed. It is not a full cafe: a self-serve bean-to-cup coffee machine, cold drinks and packaged snacks are sold, and drinks go into the lounge with lids. The cafe has a gift shop and holds events such as bingo nights.

Nashville, Tennessee
The Catio Cat Lounge is a nonprofit cat lounge and adoption center on Music Valley Drive in Nashville, near the Opryland and Opry Mills area. Run by Catio Cat Lounge Inc., a 501(c)(3), it rescues and rehomes around a thousand cats a year and puts particular effort into senior, shy, sick or injured cats that struggle to get adopted elsewhere; a second room, the Senior Catio, gives older cats with special needs their own space. Visitors pay a small fee to spend time with the free-roaming cats in a cage-free lounge, with walk-ins welcome and reservations recommended; the last booking starts an hour before closing. There is a small snack and coffee bar and a gift shop with Catio merchandise. Family packages, group rates, prepaid visits and monthly memberships are offered, the lounge can be rented for private events, and it hosts painting and movie nights with the cats.

Scruffy's Cafe
Knoxville, Tennessee
Scruffy's Cafe is a cat cafe on North Broadway in North Knoxville, a short drive north of downtown and the Old City. It runs a hot drinks bar with coffee and tea, serves snacks and baked treats such as cupcakes, and has a separate living-room-style cat lounge with adoptable cats. The cats come from two partner organizations, Young-Williams Animal Center and Feral Feline Friends of East Tennessee, and adoptions go through their application process, which can be started at the cafe. A cover charge gives entry to the lounge for an hour, and booking ahead is recommended to guarantee a place, although walk-ins are let in until the lounge reaches capacity. The lounge has toys and video games, and the cafe hosts local artists and performers and promotes mental-health support; staff can be approached discreetly by guests who are struggling. Boops & Beans Cat Cafe
Kingsport, Tennessee
Boops & Beans Cat Cafe is a cat cafe on Broad Street in downtown Kingsport, near the corner of Market Street, which opened in March 2025 in a former salon next to Cornucopia. It works as a large foster home for shelter and rescue cats from PetWorks Animal Services, The Bridge Home No Kill Animal Rescue and R U Kitten Me, and the cats live cage-free in the lounge so visitors can see their personalities. Visits carry an entrance fee, which is the cafe's main source of income for the cats' care, and the number of guests is limited, so online reservations are strongly encouraged on weekends and holidays. Coffee, bottled drinks and packaged snacks are sold. The lounge is adults only (18 and over) on Fridays from 6 to 7 PM. Boops & Beans also offers cat boarding and grooming.

Nashville, Tennessee

Adoptable cats from Crossroads' own rescue live in a room behind a large viewing window that anyone can watch from the cafe; to go in and play with them, visitors book a session online for a modest fee. Anyone who connects with a cat can start an adoption through Crossroads. Smoky Mountain Cat House
Pigeon Forge, Tennessee
Smoky Mountain Cat House is a cat-themed gift shop on Old Mill Street in Pigeon Forge, a block from the Old Mill and its restaurants and about a mile from Dollywood. It has been run by the Anderson family since 1985 and sells cat jewelry, clothing, clocks, toys, treats, locally made items and some dog goods. It is not a cat cafe, but the shop is home to a group of friendly resident cats, around eight of them, that roam the rooms and the porch and greet shoppers, and staff happily introduce visitors to them. Entry is free and there are no sessions or bookings; you can simply browse and pet the cats. The owners are involved in local cat rescue, and adoptable kittens are sometimes in the shop. It is open every day and also runs an online store.
The Grateful Gato Cat Cafe
Clarksville, Tennessee
The Grateful Gato Cat Cafe is a nonprofit cat cafe on Madison Street on the east side of Clarksville, Tennessee. Adopted cats are spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and tested for FeLV and FIV, and go home after a veterinary exam with 30 days of free Trupanion pet insurance and a year of free veterinary advice by phone. Visitors pay an entry fee that goes to the cats' care; reservations are recommended, and walk-ins are welcome when there is space. Coffee, other drinks and snacks are sold, and covered drinks are allowed in the lounge. Children must be at least 10 and supervised by an adult.
