Coffee ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​‌​​​‌‌‌​​‌​‌‌‌‌​‌​​​‌​​‌​‌​​​​‌‌⁠& CATS Tampico was the first cat cafe in southern Tamaulipas, opened around 2023 on the Tampico–Mante highway in colonia Roma, between Córcega and Génova streets. It is run by sisters Ale and Addy Romero, who look after a large resident group of cats, around 35 at one count, that roam and play throughout the cafe and are generally friendly with visitors. The menu uses cat names and shapes throughout: espresso drinks such as the catpuccino and ameowricano, frappés, iced drinks and Italian sodas, salads, sandwiches, pizza and homemade cat-shaped pastries and cakes. The cafe also sells cat-themed accessories, hosts live music on some evenings and organises birthday parties. It promotes sterilisation and responsible adoption and runs raffles to cover vet costs for cats in need. The cafe is pet friendly and opens in the evenings, Tuesday to Sunday.

Reynosa, Tamaulipas

Cat-puccino ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​​​‌​‌‌​​​‌‌​‌​​​‌​‌​‌​​‌‌​​​‌​​⁠Coffee is a cat-themed cafe in Plaza Puerta del Sol, on Punta Calabozo in the Puerta del Sol area of Reynosa. The whole space is decorated with cats, from the paintings and games to the plates and drink names, and a small group of resident cats, around five, joins guests in the cafe. The cats are usually present from Friday to Sunday afternoons rather than every day, so visitors who come mainly for them should check before going. Staff explain the house rules on arrival, and handling of the cats is limited to keep them calm, which makes the cafe better suited to adults and older children. The menu includes espresso drinks, frappés, Italian sodas, smoothies and milkshakes, crepes, paninis, chilaquiles, burgers and brunch plates, plus cat-shaped conchas. Board games are available, and the cafe hosts workshops and celebrates its cats' birthdays.
