Barro que Mia
Taubate, São Paulo
Barro que Mia is a cat cafe and ceramics studio on Rua Quatro de Março in central Taubaté, in the Vale do Paraíba. It opened in 2026 and combines three things: a cafe, a resident group of cats, and bisque pottery that visitors can paint on site. Rather than charging for time with the cats, the cafe asks guests to order from the menu and then lets them stay in the cats' space for up to two hours, with an emphasis on calm and respectful handling. Some of the cats are available for responsible adoption. Alongside coffee and snacks, the house runs ceramic painting sessions and has hosted yoga and meditation activities. It is a small, quiet space that suits families and anyone who wants a slow afternoon with cats and a creative activity. The cafe is closed on Sundays and Mondays.
