The ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​‌​​‌‌​‌‌​‌​​​​​‌​​​​​​‌​​​‌‌​​​​⁠Dancing Cat is a nonprofit cat adoption lounge at 702 East Julian Street, near downtown San Jose, founded by Ann Chasson and Mary Rubin and run as Karma Cat Rescue. It began as a four-week pop-up in May 2015, reopened in May 2016 with Silicon Valley Pet Project and has operated as an independent rescue since September 2018. Its cats are mostly adults at risk at the San Jose Animal Care Center, and seven to eleven of them normally live cage-free in a living-room-style lounge with a quiet back room. Visits are booked by the hour for a small admission fee, children must be 5 or older and with an adult, and guests may bring their own coffee or snacks. Adoption fees range from $80 to $155, and adopted cats are delivered to their new homes. An SUV crashed into the entrance on September 2, 2025; no cats were hurt, but the lounge has been closed for repairs since then and its cats are in foster homes, still available for adoption.

Mini ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​‌​‌​‌​‌‌​​​‌‌​‌​​​‌‌‌​‌​​​​​‌‌​⁠Cat Town San Jose is a kitten lounge and adoption floor inside Eastridge Shopping Center in East San Jose. It was the first adoption floor of Mini Cat Town, a nonprofit founded in 2015 by sisters Thi, Thoa and Tram Bui that specializes in rescuing neonatal kittens from local shelters; the kittens are raised in foster homes and move to the adoption floor once they are about eight weeks old, two pounds and spayed or neutered. Visitors pay an admission fee for a 30-minute session in a living room-style space where the kittens roam freely. Entry is walk-in only and runs on a waitlist when busy, usually from early afternoon on weekends, and every guest signs a waiver and sanitizes before going in. The last group enters 30 minutes before closing. All kittens are adoptable through an online application and appointment.

Itty ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​‌‌​​​​​​‌‌​​​​‌‌​‌​​​‌‌‌​​‌​‌​‌​⁠Bitty Kitty Cafe is the kitten lounge of Itty Bitty Orphan Kitty Rescue (IBOK), a volunteer-run nonprofit that saves orphaned kittens from high-kill shelters and raises them in foster homes. It sits at the back of Cambrian Park Plaza, a retro strip mall on Union Avenue in San Jose's Cambrian area, behind Pup Plaza. The cafe opens on weekends, when foster volunteers bring in kittens for a chance at adoption. Visits last 50 minutes in one of two kitten playrooms furnished like a family living room, with a volunteer in the room and small groups only. There is a per-person fee, guests must be at least five years old, and reservations are recommended, though walk-ins are taken when there is space. Shoes come off at the door, so visitors should bring socks. Coffee and cookies are set out nearby, and all the kittens are adoptable through IBOK.
