MaineCoon Café
Bucharest
MaineCoon Café is a cat cafe in Sector 2 of Bucharest, in a historic house on Bulevardul Pache Protopopescu near Piața Iancului. Opened in June 2026 by the Maine Coon cattery Gina's Dream, it is home to more than a dozen Maine Coon cats that roam freely through the indoor rooms and the garden terrace. The menu covers specialty coffee, lemonades, signature cocktails named after the cats, wine and desserts. A standard visit has no entry fee, only a drink or food order, and lasts up to two hours; tables can be booked online. Two private rooms for small groups are available for a per-person charge and are booked by phone. House rules ask visitors not to feed, wake or pick up the cats, to avoid flash photography and to keep children under adult supervision. Visitors' own pets are not allowed.

La Mâțe
Botosani
La Mâțe is a rescue cat cafe in Botoșani, part of the TrioVet veterinary clinic complex on Strada I.C. Brătianu. It was opened in January 2025 by two local vets, Dănuț Bratu and Daniel Bejinariu, as a home for cats they had rescued, many of them from serious injuries or neglect. More than 100 sterilised cats live across about ten rooms, several cats to a room, and visitors move between the rooms with a drink from the snack bar. Entry depends on available space. Lint rollers and a sink for washing hands are provided. Visitors who form a bond with a cat can apply to adopt it, although many of the residents, including cats with disabilities, are long-term residents. The cafe also hosts talks on animal care. It is closed on Mondays for cleaning and to give the cats a rest.

Pet Cafe Oradea
Oradea, Bihor
Pet Cafe is a cat and dog cafe on Piața 1 Decembrie in central Oradea, billed as the first animal cafe in the city. The cafe is split into two rooms, one for its resident cats, including some pedigree cats, and one for its small dogs, and visitors can sit with either group over coffee, hot chocolate or lemonade. There is no entry fee, but every guest over seven must order something. House rules ask visitors not to wake sleeping animals, not to pick them up without asking staff, not to feed them and to avoid flash photography, and children under 14 must be supervised by an adult. Lint rollers are provided for fur. Visitors' own pets are not allowed, and the door is kept closed for the animals' safety. The cafe is open every day.
Cuddle & Coffee
Ploiesti, Prahova
Cuddle & Coffee is a small cat cafe on Bulevardul Independenței near the centre of Ploiești, describing itself as the first cat cafe in the city. Previously at a different address, it moved to the boulevard in spring 2026. Drinks are ordered at a bar in the front room, and the cats, mostly rescued kittens and young cats, live in separate rooms where visitors go to spend time with them. The menu includes coffee, flavoured lattes, frappés, lemonades, cocktails and bubble tea. Staff can tell visitors the story of each cat, and the cafe's social media also follows cats that have found homes. Lint rollers are provided for fur. The cafe is popular with students and families with children, and is closed on Mondays.
Café Retro
Iasi
Café Retro is a vintage-style cafe and bar in an ivy-covered old house in the Copou district of Iași, at the corner of Strada Lascăr Catargi and Strada Bogdan Petriceicu Hașdeu, near Building B of the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University. It was not designed as a cat cafe, but over the years it has taken in several cats, about four, that live in the house and wander between the sofas and tables, and the cafe advertises them alongside its board games and bookshelves. The menu covers coffee, tea, cakes, cocktails and beer, and the cafe hosts acoustic concerts and workshops. There is no entry fee. Visitors' dogs are also welcome, and there is a garden courtyard and a children's room. The cafe is open every day, until late on weekends.
Check each cafe's website for current hours, booking requirements and age restrictions before visiting.
