Katzencafé ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​‌‌‌​‌​‌‌‌‌​‌​​‌​‌​​‌​​​​​‌​‌‌​‌​⁠Milou is a small cat cafe on Alexanderstraße in central Aachen, a few minutes' walk from Kaiserplatz. Founded in 2015 by Miriam Klubertz, it was taken over in June 2026 by Lena Klein and reopened on 1 September 2026 with new resident cats, currently the two cats Queenie and Joker. The cats live in the cafe and come to the tables when they choose. There is no entry fee; the cafe serves coffee specialities, fresh teas, homemade cakes, breakfast and small vegetarian and vegan dishes. The cafe was briefly closed for renovation in late September 2026 and posts updates on its Instagram and Facebook pages. It is closed on Mondays.

Bielefeld, Nordrhein Westfalen

Katzencafé ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​​‌​‌​‌‌‌​‌‌​‌​​​‌‌‌‌‌​‌‌​‌‌​​‌​⁠Miezhaus is a small cat cafe on Oberntorwall in Bielefeld's city centre, at the edge of the old town. Opened in 2017 as the first cat cafe in the Ostwestfalen-Lippe region, it is home to five resident cats, Professor, Kalina, Felix, Lea and Waiki, who move freely around the cafe. The food and drinks are vegan, with a daily changing cake, Belgian waffles, savoury snacks and a lunch menu until 3 PM. There is no entry fee, but every guest is asked to order at least one drink to help fund the cats' care. House rules ask visitors to let the cats approach first, not to pick them up, wake or feed them, and to take photos without flash; children must be supervised. Last entry is one hour before closing, and reservations are recommended. Free Wi-Fi makes it a common spot for studying and working.

Bochum, Nordrhein Westfalen

Katzentempel ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​‌‌‌‌​​‌​​‌‌​‌‌​‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌​​‌​​​⁠Bochum is a vegan cat cafe and restaurant on Huestraße in the pedestrian zone of Bochum's city centre, a few minutes' walk from Bochum Hauptbahnhof. It was the first branch of the Katzentempel chain in the Ruhr area. The resident cats come from animal welfare organisations, with earlier cats rescued from Cyprus and Egypt, and each is named after a word from the Ruhr dialect, such as Scholli, Bömsken, Lorbass and Firlefanz. The cats live in the dining room and move freely between the tables, with a separate quiet room they can retreat to. There is no entry fee; guests order from a fully plant-based menu of breakfasts, bowls, burgers, sandwiches, salads and cakes, with coffee, teas and homemade lemonades. Reservations can be made online, and groups of more than six should call. Cat sponsorships and vouchers are sold on site and online.

Minden, Nordrhein Westfalen

Katzentempel ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​​‌​​​‌​‌​​‌​​​‌​‌‌‌‌​​​‌​​​​​​‌⁠Minden is a vegan cat cafe and restaurant on Bäckerstraße, in the pedestrian zone of Minden's old town centre. Six resident cats live in the dining room and roam freely among the guests: Duchesse, Madame Adelaide, Marie, O'Malley, Roquefort and Toulouse. There is no entry fee; guests order from the chain's fully plant-based menu, which runs from breakfast through sandwiches, bowls and burgers to cakes, with coffee, matcha and chai drinks, teas and homemade lemonades. Reservations are not required but are recommended at weekends, in school holidays and on public holidays. On weekday mornings and middays the cafe runs a 'Work Cat Balance' offer, where guests can work or read with a flat rate for coffee, tea and water. The cafe is closed on Wednesdays. Dortmund, Nordrhein Westfalen

Katzentempel ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​‌​‌​‌​​​​‌‌‌‌​‌​‌​​​​​​‌​​‌‌​‌​‌⁠Dortmund is a vegan cat cafe and restaurant of the Katzentempel chain on Kampstraße in Dortmund's city centre, in the former Conrad building that runs through to Westenhellweg, close to the Thier-Galerie shopping centre. It is run by two members of the Katzentempel Bochum team and was set to open on 4 November 2026. As at other branches, cats from animal welfare organisations live in the restaurant and move freely among the guests, with their own retreat area; its first six cats were rescued in Dubai and moved in during October 2026. Guests order from the chain's fully plant-based menu of breakfasts, bowls, burgers and cakes, with no entry fee. The restaurant has around 70 seats, and its announced hours are 10 AM to 9 PM from Sunday to Thursday and 10 AM to 10 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Tables can be reserved online through the Katzentempel website.
