Cat Cafes in Matsuyama, Ehime

Matsuyama, Ehime

Nyacotto is a rescue cat cafe in Kasugamachi, central Matsuyama, a short walk from Iyotetsu Matsuyama-shi Station, with parking next door. It connects rescued cats that need homes with people who love cats, and the cats can be adopted. The space is divided into separate rooms so cats are grouped according to their situation, and residents range from calm, friendly adults that settle on laps to young cats and kittens. Entry works on a donation basis, with a suggested amount for the first 30 minutes and for each further 30 minutes, which goes toward food and veterinary care. Socks are required, children of elementary school age and younger must come with a guardian, and flash photography is not allowed. Visitors are asked to let the cats come to them. It is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and may close at short notice if a cat is unwell.

Cat Cafe RONRON describes itself as Matsuyama's first cat cafe. It is on the second floor of a building on the Okaido shopping arcade, next to the Cinema Sunshine Okaido cinema, about six minutes on foot from Okaido tram stop. The cafe has one large cat room with a sizeable group of cats, most of them pedigree breeds such as Maine Coons alongside other long- and short-haired cats, plus some young cats. Visits are charged by the hour with a drink included, and treats can be bought to feed the cats. Picking up or holding the cats is not allowed. The cafe is open every day, from midday on weekdays and from late morning on weekends and holidays, until the evening.

Cat Cafe Goronyago is a rescue cat cafe on Heiwadori, on the north side of Matsuyama Castle hill, opened in July 2026 by a local house-clearing company that had often taken in cats its clients could no longer keep. All the cats are rescues, including former strays found sick on the street, and most are affectionate enough that two or three may settle on a visitor's lap at once; kittens under a year old play energetically, and guest cats sometimes stay. The small rooms were largely built by hand and are meant to feel like a relative's living room, with a large tree-like cat tower. Visits are charged per 30 minutes or per hour with one drink included, socks are required and can be bought at the door, and treats and cat goods are sold. A stamp card is available. It is closed on Mondays.

Cat Cafe noa is an adoption-focused rescue cat cafe in Tsujimachi, Matsuyama. Its cats were taken in from the public health center, where they faced euthanasia, or were rescued from abuse, and many arrived frightened of people. With visitors following the house rules, most have grown confident and affectionate, and around ten to twenty cats share the room. Staff explain how to approach the cats when you arrive, and the cafe suits people who want to sit quietly with cats rather than play with toys; longer sessions give shy cats time to come over. Visits are timed, with a drink included and optional snack sets. Opening days and hours change with the cats' health, so it is best to check the cafe's blog or Instagram, or phone, before going.

The group also holds dog and cat adoption days on site. Himeneko opens only on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Most of its many cats are rescues taken in by volunteers, and they roam freely across the cat tower, cushions and play areas; some bring toys to visitors to ask for a game. Visitors disinfect their hands and wear slippers or socks inside. The cafe is open every day, with longer hours on weekends.

Nyawanken is a rescue cat cafe and pet goods shop in Hinodemachi, Matsuyama, a minute on foot from the Hinode-Kaminomachi bus stop, with free parking. The owner has taken in around twenty cats, some rescued as kittens and others as adults, and all have been spayed or neutered; the aim is to find them permanent homes. The cat room is booked as a private session, so each group has the cats to itself, and there is also a separate cafe space. The shop stocks carefully chosen dog and cat goods and sample sizes of pet food, and a qualified veterinary nurse on the staff can advise on feeding. Bookings are taken online, by phone or through Instagram, and opening days are announced on Instagram.
