Neko Cafe Mofumofu

Matsumoto, Nagano

Neko Cafe Mofumofu is a welcoming cat cafe located in Matsumoto, Nagano, operated by the general incorporated association Mofumofudou. Opened in July 2015, the cafe grew out of a rescue mission originally aimed at ending euthanasia at the Matsumoto Health Center. Today it continues to shelter cats rescued from multi-cat households and homes where owners can no longer provide care, giving them a safe place to wait for adoption. Guests are welcomed into a calm interaction room where they can spend unhurried time with the resident cats, all of whom are available for adoption to approved homes. The organization also runs a shelter, holds regular adoption events at partner Watahan store locations, and sells charity calendars and goods to support ongoing rescue work. Every visit helps support the cats in their care.
