Meow Dyer Cat Cafe, Lounge and Boutique is a cat cafe on Leonardtown Square in the historic downtown of Leonardtown, the county seat of St. Mary's County in southern Maryland, founded by Shannon Obedoza. Adoptable rescue cats live in a cat lounge, and the cafe now runs its own rescue, Meow Dyer Rescue, which handles adoption applications. Visitors pay to book play time in the lounge, and reservations are strongly encouraged, though walk-ins are welcome when there is space. Self-serve teas, coffees, hot cocoa and cold drinks are available, along with cookies when stocked. Children are welcome; under-18s need a parent to sign the waiver and under-13s must be with an adult. The boutique sells cat-themed toys, clothing and housewares, and the cafe runs ticketed events such as coloring hours, craft sessions and movie nights with the cats.

Baltimore, Maryland

Affogatto is an Italian-style coffee shop and cat rescue cafe at the corner of Wolfe and Fleet Streets in Fells Point, Baltimore, opened in May 2025 as the city's only cat cafe. Half the space is a cafe serving espresso, tea, snacks and ice cream, with books, local art and cat toys for sale. The other half is a separate cat lounge where visitors book short, low-cost sessions with adoptable kittens under staff supervision. Usually 4 to 12 kittens are in residence, grouped by litter and taken in from regional shelters such as the Humane Society of Harford County, Frederick County Humane Society and Baltimore Humane Society. More than 200 cats have been rehomed. Up to six guests can be in the lounge at once, each needs a booking, and visitors must be at least 3. Pets are not allowed inside, and the space is not wheelchair accessible.

Ellicott City, Maryland

Luna Cat Collective is a Taiwanese-style cat cafe on Baltimore National Pike (US 40) in Ellicott City, the first cat cafe in Howard County. Its cafe and coworking side serves coffee and pastries from a local bakery and has books, manga and board games, and a large observation window lets anyone watch the cats for free. Time in the separate cat lounge is booked as timed passes, from a short visit to a full day, and walk-ins are welcome when there is room. All the cats come from Small Miracles Cat & Dog Rescue, arrive spayed or neutered and vaccinated, and are available for adoption. Visitors sign a waiver, children under 8 need a parent with them, and infants and toddlers cannot enter the lounge. Pets are allowed on the cafe side. Events include a monthly local artist showcase, movie nights, crafts, tarot nights and kitty yoga.

Chestertown, Maryland

The Cat Colloquium is a free cat lounge on the second floor of the historic Stam's building on High Street in downtown Chestertown, on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Run by the nonprofit Kit Cares, it is a cage-free home for a group of about a dozen resident cats that live there permanently, and a community space for reading, studying or relaxing with them. There is no admission charge and no reservation is needed except for groups of up to 15, though donations of cash, toys or books help cover food, litter and veterinary care. No coffee is sold, but visitors may bring their own drinks and snacks. Guests are asked to sanitize their hands and not to pick up the cats, and children under 8 must be supervised by an adult. The entrance is at the rear of the building off Cannon Street, with a chair lift for step-free access.
