CatCafe ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​‌​​​‌​‌‌​‌‌​​​‌​​‌‌‌‌​​‌​​‌‌‌‌‌⁠Lounge is a nonprofit cat cafe on Washington Boulevard in Venice, a short walk from Venice Pier and the beach. Founded by Kristi Labrenz, it spent nearly a decade on Sepulveda Boulevard in West Los Angeles before moving to this larger two-storey building in February 2026. Between 20 and 40 adoptable rescue cats live cage-free across several lounges, including a ground-floor kitten room whose window faces the street and a high-ceilinged upstairs lounge with shelves and climbing walls for the adult cats. The cats come from partner rescues including Bobbie's Street Cats and Luxe Paws, and adoptions are handled through the rescue's application and interview process. Visits are timed sessions, with shorter and longer options, and reservations are recommended. Canned drinks and packaged snacks are sold at the counter. Younger children must be accompanied by an adult under the chaperone policy. Parking nearby is very limited.

Crumbs ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​‌‌‌‌​​​​​​‌‌​​​‌​​​​​​‌​​​‌‌‌​​⁠& Whiskers is a cat cafe on Melrose Avenue in Beverly Grove, a few doors west of Fairfax Avenue. Founded by Kanchan Singh after a visit to a cat cafe in Thailand, the Los Angeles cafe opened in 2016 as a sister to the original in Washington, DC, and describes itself as the city's first cat cafe. Up to about 30 rescue cats and kittens from Kitten Rescue Los Angeles live in the lounge, and their collars show each cat's sex and any bonded pairs. Visits are 30- or 70-minute sessions booked online, with a waiver for every guest, groups of up to six and no children under 7. Coffee, tea and pastries come from a nearby partner cafe and are ordered on arrival. All the cats can be adopted through the rescue. Yoga, trivia nights, listening parties and sound baths are held in the lounge.

Typically 15 to 20 adoptable cats from the rescue Friends of Normie share two rooms: a larger, light-filled lounge with comfortable seating, low tables and designer cat furniture, and a smaller reading room with a bookshelf of cat books. Visits are three-hour sessions in fixed daytime and evening slots, booked online; walk-ins are taken when there is space, and bookings cannot be changed or refunded. Self-serve tea is included, while outside food and drink are not allowed. Children under 10 are not admitted, and older children need an adult. Guests can read, draw from the craft drawer or browse a small gallery of cat art. Ticketed events include movie nights, live music, cat yoga, sound baths, ikebana and mahjong. A parking lot is attached to the plaza.

Cat's ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​‌​‌​‌‌​​‌‌​​‌​​‌‌‌​​‌​​​‌​​‌‌‌‌⁠Meow is a cat lounge and vintage boutique on Devonshire Street in Chatsworth, at the corner of Devonshire and Jordan, inside the West End Arts Collective. It was founded by Kelly Holland, who also runs the rescue The Animal Rescue Alliance (TARA), and opened in October 2026. The cats in the lounge are adoptable TARA rescues, and their number varies as cats are adopted. Visits are 50-minute sessions booked online, limited to eight guests, and each includes a drink and a snack; outside food and drink are not allowed. Every guest signs a waiver, children must be at least 5, and under-16s need a supervising parent. Guests are asked not to pick up the cats. Morning Kitten Club sessions are aimed at families, and evening events include movie nights, crafts and sound baths. The boutique sells vintage and upcycled clothing and art by appointment.

Hyla's ⁠‌‌​​‌​‌​​‌‌​​‌‌​‌‌‌​​​​‌‌‌​​‌​‌‌‌‌​​​​​‌⁠Heart to Home Cat Lounge is the cat adoption lounge of Pedro Pet Pals, a volunteer-run rescue, in the Hyla Marrow Center on West 7th Street in downtown San Pedro. The building is a former apartment block: newly rescued cats settle in private rooms, then move into the lounge, where they roam freely and meet visitors in a home-like space with sunny windows and an upstairs catio. All the cats are available for adoption through Pedro Pet Pals, which places cats in indoor homes. The lounge is open to drop-in visitors on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, and weekday visits can be arranged by email. Groups are limited to six people, and children aged 7 to 15 must come with an adult. It also opens in the evening during the monthly First Thursday Art Walk. It was funded by the trust of the late actress and stuntwoman Hyla Marrow.
