CatCafe Lounge
CatCafe Lounge is a nonprofit cat cafe on Washington Boulevard in Venice, a short walk from Venice Pier and the beach. Founded by Kristi Labrenz, it spent nearly a decade on Sepulveda Boulevard in West Los Angeles before moving to this larger two-storey building in February 2026. Between 20 and 40 adoptable rescue cats live cage-free across several lounges, including a ground-floor kitten room whose window faces the street and a high-ceilinged upstairs lounge with shelves and climbing walls for the adult cats. The cats come from partner rescues including Bobbie's Street Cats and Luxe Paws, and adoptions are handled through the rescue's application and interview process. Visits are timed sessions, with shorter and longer options, and reservations are recommended. Canned drinks and packaged snacks are sold at the counter. Younger children must be accompanied by an adult under the chaperone policy. Parking nearby is very limited.

Meows Rakuen

Meows Rakuen is a nonprofit cat cafe in Gardena, on the second floor above Spoon House Restaurant at the corner of Redondo Beach Boulevard and Denker Avenue. It is run by Just Wanana Rescue Meows, which takes cats from city shelters and houses them in the cafe as a home-like alternative to shelter cages until they are adopted. Catnip Coalition Vintage Mall

Hyla's Heart to Home Cat Lounge

Hyla's Heart to Home Cat Lounge is the cat adoption lounge of Pedro Pet Pals, a volunteer-run rescue, in the Hyla Marrow Center on West 7th Street in downtown San Pedro. The building is a former apartment block: newly rescued cats settle in private rooms, then move into the lounge, where they roam freely and meet visitors in a home-like space with sunny windows and an upstairs catio. All the cats are available for adoption through Pedro Pet Pals, which places cats in indoor homes. The lounge is open to drop-in visitors on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, and weekday visits can be arranged by email. Groups are limited to six people, and children aged 7 to 15 must come with an adult. It also opens in the evening during the monthly First Thursday Art Walk. It was funded by the trust of the late actress and stuntwoman Hyla Marrow.
