Romeow Cat Bistrot is a vegan restaurant and cat cafe on Via Francesco Negri in Ostiense, near the Gazometro and about ten minutes on foot from Piramide station on Metro Line B. Opened in late 2014 by Valentina De Matteis and Maurizio, it was the first cat cafe in Rome. Around nine resident cats, originally from the Luna di Formaggio rescue association, roam freely among the tables and shelves, and guests are asked to respect their space and their naps. The kitchen serves a plant-based menu that changes every season, with dishes drawn from cuisines around the world. Breakfast is served on weekend mornings and an afternoon snack service runs from Tuesday to Sunday, while at lunch and dinner the bistrot works only as a restaurant and booking is required. Students may study there on weekday afternoons. Cakes can be ordered for birthdays, but outside cakes are not allowed.

Morning Cat House is a small cat cafe and bubble tea shop on Via dei Fontej in Quadraro, in Rome's Tuscolano area, a few minutes on foot from Numidio Quadrato station on Metro Line A. It is run as a cultural association, so visitors take out a membership card on arrival, either a temporary pass covering up to two hours or a monthly one, which works as the entry fee. Inside, about six cats adopted by the association, among them Pearl, Giugno, Snowball and Bubble Tea, roam a lounge with play areas where guests sit with them over bubble tea and milk tea. The space also has board games and a Wii, and it can be reserved for birthday parties and other small gatherings. The cafe is open every afternoon. Payment is in cash or by PayPal only.
