Kaohsiung
厝內 tshù-lāi, Taiwanese for 'at home', is a small cafe in a lane off Nanhua Road in Xinxing District, Kaohsiung, laid out like a tiny bookshop and home to three resident cats. The cats wander freely and are friendly, but guests may not pick them up or feed them, and should take care that they do not slip out of the door. Each guest must order a drink, groups of more than four are not accepted, and the cafe does not recommend visits with children under six. Guests are asked to be considerate to the neighbours outside. Bookings are by phone on the cafe's landline, and special closures are posted in its Instagram stories.
