Cat Cafes in Ashiya, Fukuoka

Ashiya, Fukuoka

Jam-ya ‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌is a cafe and deli in the old shopping street of Ashiya, in Onga District just west of Kitakyushu, known for its vegetable-sommelier salads, hamburg steak, cakes and jams, with a room of rescued cats next door. The owners take in stray and abandoned cats and look for adopters for them, and the shop's own hashtag calls it the cat cafe with too many cats. The cat room usually opens in the afternoon, and on weekdays the one-hour fee covers unlimited time. The cat room and the cafe are separate, but visitors with allergies are warned. A bus stop is right outside. Opening days and times are posted each morning on Instagram.
