Shiawase Nyanko
Shiawase Nyanko is an adoption-focused rescue cat cafe in Onogi, Iga, about two minutes by car from the Ouchi interchange on the Meihan National Highway. It grew out of a rescue project supported by Rohto Pharmaceutical and is run as a small company that rescues cats and finds them new families. The cat room holds many friendly cats, young and old, led by a store manager cat and a large white deputy, and visitors can join in feeding time at no extra charge. Visits are charged by time, with extension options, and drinks are served. The cafe opens on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and on some holidays, with the cat room closed for an hour at midday. The last stretch of road is only about 2 metres wide, so a small car is recommended; by train it is a 9-minute taxi ride from Nishi-Ote Station on the Iga Railway.
