Cat Café Neko Hige

Cat Café Neko Hige is a rescue cat cafe with owls in Kikutamachi, on the rural north-western edge of Koriyama, opened in April 2018 with a pirate-ship theme. Around ten rescued cats, many of them tabbies, live in the cafe and some are looking for new homes. Two owls also work as bird staff and can be seen up close, and there is an aquarium with tropical fish. No booking is needed, but entry may be limited when busy, with up to ten visitors at a time. Visits are charged by time, with optional drinks and cat treats for sale; socks must be worn, groups with preschool children are limited to 30 minutes, and children of elementary school age and younger must come with an adult. The cafe is closed on Mondays and Fridays, except on public holidays, and may close early depending on the cats' health.
