Hogoneko & Mameshiba Cafe Naon
Naon is a rescue cat and mame shiba cafe in Wakigata, in the Nadaura coastal district of northern Himi, and one of the few places in Toyama where visitors can meet both cats and dogs. Rescued cats share the play area with a pack of friendly mame shiba, and the eating area is kept separate from the animal space for hygiene. The rescued cats can be adopted, and the owners also breed and sell mame shiba puppies. Time with the animals is charged by time, and bookings are given priority when it is busy. The cafe serves full meals as well as drinks and desserts, with fluffy omurice and Korean-style sweets among the popular dishes, and a nail salon is run on the same premises. It closes on Mondays and Thursdays and opens until 8 PM on weekends and holidays. Parking is available at the community hall next door.

MiiA Poche Nekohan
Himi, Toyama5.9 mi / 9.5 km
MiiA Poche Nekohan is an adoption-focused rescue cat cafe in Yanaida, Himi, opened in late 2025 by a volunteer from a local rescue group who had long fostered and bottle-fed kittens. All the cats are rescues waiting for new homes, often including playful kittens, and there is a separate room where cats can retreat when they want a rest. Adoption follows an interview, a home trial and a formal contract, and staff explain each cat and the process to interested visitors. Visits are charged per 30 minutes or per hour with a drink, with lower rates for preschool children, and drinks include grape juice from a local Himi farm. Part of the fee goes to the cats' care. The cafe also offers boarding for pet cats. It closes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and on Wednesday instead when either falls on a public holiday.

Kissa Nekoya
Shika14 mi / 23 km
Kissa Nekoya is a small coffee shop in Takahama, Shika, on the Noto Peninsula, near the Shika Shogakko-mae bus stop, where rescued cats share the dining room with customers. It is effectively the only cat cafe in Noto, and its focus is cat rescue: former strays and kittens live here while they wait for new homes. Usually two or three cats and, in season, litters of kittens are in the room, and they wander between the sofa and the tables, so visitors can stroke or hold them while waiting for their food. There is no cat fee; visitors simply order from the menu, which includes morning sets, lunch, siphon coffee, chiffon cake and an old-style firm pudding. Seating is limited to two tables and a counter, so there may be a wait when it is busy. It is closed on Wednesdays.
