Miss Tea Griff
Miss Tea Griff is the first cat cafe in Corsica, in the Salines district of Ajaccio. Opened in September 2025, it combines an alcohol-free cat bar with a nail art studio and a corner selling work by local Corsican makers, such as tufted rugs, jewellery and bags. The cafe works with the rescue association Les Chats de l'Île: alongside a few resident mascots, cats are fostered here until they are adopted, and some have already found homes this way. Cats roam freely and have plenty of hiding spots. Visitors order a drink and spend time with the cats. The menu covers coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cold drinks and homemade cookies, waffles and small cakes. Visitors are asked to keep the room calm for the cats.

La Ronronnerie
Nice, Provence Alpes Cote Dazur143 mi / 231 km
La Ronronnerie is a cat cafe and small restaurant on Rue de Lépante in central Nice, a few streets east of Avenue Jean-Médecin and a short walk from the Jean Médecin tram stop. Open since 2015, it is the city's only cat cafe. Five resident cats live in the cafe, among them Zéphyr, a Maine Coon, and Willow, a British Shorthair. There is no entry fee and no booking: tables are first come, first served, and guests order from the menu. Children under 10 are not admitted, and house rules ask visitors to let the cats come to them. The kitchen makes everything on site, with bagels, pancakes, French toast, crêpes, carrot cake and other pastries, plus matcha lattes and hot chocolate, served from late morning through lunch and afternoon tea. The cafe also runs occasional workshops and events.

Mouan's Chatoux
Mouans Sartoux, Provence Alpes Cote Dazur147 mi / 237 km
Mouan's Chatoux is a small cat cafe on Avenue de Cannes in Mouans-Sartoux, between Cannes and Grasse. Five resident cats, including Moon and Tango, live in the cafe and wander among the tables, and the owner is happy to tell visitors about each of them. Guests order a drink or a meal and spend time with the cats, or sit on the terrace. The kitchen serves continuously from late morning, with lunch dishes such as savoury crêpes, homemade cakes like brownies and carrot cake, tea and hot chocolate for the afternoon. The entrance has a doorbell and a door that must be closed behind you to keep the cats inside. Families with children are welcome as long as the cats are left to come to visitors on their own.
L'instant chat
Hyeres, Provence Alpes Cote Dazur156 mi / 252 km
L'instant chat is a cat cafe and tea room on Avenue Paul Bourget in Hyères, near the train station. Open since 2017, it acts as a foster home for regional animal protection associations, so every cat in the cafe is available for adoption and the group changes as cats find new homes. The cats move freely through the room and have their own retreat they can withdraw to at any time, and the number of guests is limited to keep things calm. There is no entry fee; visitors order from the menu, which includes salads, toasted sandwiches with meat and vegetarian fillings, cookies, muffins, Liège waffles, organic ice cream and a list of about fifteen organic teas. The entrance has a double-door airlock, and guests disinfect their hands and are asked not to wake, pick up or feed the cats. Children must stay under their parents' supervision.

Papa Chat Café
Toulon, Provence Alpes Cote Dazur165 mi / 266 km
Papa Chat Café is the first cat cafe in Toulon, opened in April 2026 on Rue de Pomet in the old town, a short walk from Place Puget. Founder Julien Telmat runs it as a cosy home for about eight cats, all rescued and adopted from animal protection associations; they live at the cafe permanently and are not offered for adoption. Access to the cat room is charged by the hour on top of what you order, with a lower rate for children. Children under 6 are not admitted. The menu offers hot and cold drinks, homemade pastries and cookies and savoury snacks for lunch. Visitors disinfect their hands on arrival and are asked not to pick up, wake or feed the cats, not to use flash and to keep their voices low. The cafe also sells its own branded goodies such as T-shirts and mugs.

Taro Garden
Prato, Tuscany179 mi / 289 km
Taro Garden is a bubble tea shop with resident cats on Via Pistoiese, the main street of Prato's Chinatown, just outside the city walls west of the historic centre. Behind the small shop is a garden with seating, and a good number of cats and kittens live between the indoor room and the garden, where they come to the tables and often settle on visitors' laps. The menu is Chinese-style: bubble tea and milk tea, taro and mango drinks, fresh fruit drinks, matcha, Oreo slushes and small sweet and savoury snacks. There is no entry fee or booking system; visitors simply order at the counter and sit with the cats, and cat food can be bought on site to feed them. It is a casual neighbourhood spot popular with young people, and it is not a good choice for anyone allergic to cats. The shop is open every day.
Cat Café Firenze
Firenze, Tuscany180 mi / 289 km
Cat Café Firenze is a cat cafe on Via Giuseppe Verdi in Florence's historic centre, a short walk from Piazza Santa Croce. Opened in February 2024 by Mirella Giachinta, it was the first cat cafe in the city and is modelled on Japanese neko cafes. The cafe is home to a group of about six to eight resident cats, the original ones named after the Beatles, who move freely around the tables while a separate back area with their litter trays stays off limits to guests. Visitors enter through a double door, order from a QR-code menu and are expected to buy something to stay, with a small per-person cat charge added to the bill. The menu runs from breakfast and coffee through sandwiches, pancakes, smoothies, matcha and cocktails to aperitivo. Guests may stroke the cats when they approach but should not pick them up or wake them, and other pets are not allowed. The cafe is open every day.
