Michibucks Coffee
Michibucks Coffee is a small cat cafe on Prolongación Puno, about a block and a half from the Real Plaza shopping centre in central Huancayo, and describes itself as the city's first cat cafe. Rescued cats live in the Zona Michis, a separate cat room reserved for visitors aged eight and over, while the front room serves coffee, frappes, lemonades, pancakes, cinnamon rolls and other sweet snacks. The cats are friendly and used to visitors, and some have been adopted by guests who met them at the cafe. A small shop sells cat products. The venue is compact and can fill up at busy times, and the food menu is limited, so most people come for the cats. It is open every day.

JUVAMA Café Cat
Piura601 mi / 967 km
JUVAMA Café Cat is a small cafe on Calle Corpac, near Piura's airport, where the owner looks after a group of rescued street cats that live in the dining room and mingle with customers. Visitors have counted around a dozen cats, and they greet guests, sit on the cushioned seats and let themselves be stroked. The menu is simple and inexpensive: fresh fruit juices, coffee, sandwiches and chifles, the fried plantain chips typical of northern Peru. There is no separate cat room or entry fee, and cat hair is part of the experience, so visitors with allergies should take note. The owner has added skylights to keep the room ventilated. The cafe opens early in the morning, which makes it a possible stop before a flight.
