La Casa de los Gatos
La Casa de los Gatos is a cultural centre, gallery and bistro in an old house at Pino Suárez 319, in the Centro Barranquitas neighbourhood of central Guadalajara. Gabriela Núñez opened it in early 2026 as a sister project of El Gatuario, a small rescue that finds homes for cats. The rescued cats live in the house, and the centre describes every visit as support for them. The bistro serves coffee, cold brew with tonic, wine including Mexican wines from the Valle de Guadalupe, tostas, charcuterie boards and cookies, and there is a terrace. The house also runs stained-glass and mosaic courses, a film club, art exhibitions and theatre: in August 2026 two performances of Molière’s The Misanthrope sold out, and an April 2026 group show auctioned its works to raise money for El Gatuario. In October 2026 it opened on Fridays from 3 PM to 11 PM and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 AM to 11 PM. Enquiries and bookings go through Instagram direct messages or the phone number 33 2020 2929.

Guadalajara, Jalisco1.8 mi / 2.9 km
Neko-hi Café is a cat cafe at Avenida de la Paz 2155, interior D, in the Lafayette part of Colonia Americana, Guadalajara, a few blocks west of Avenida Chapultepec. It bills itself as the first cat cafe in Guadalajara and has a Japanese-inspired interior where around eight or nine cats of different breeds and mixes roam among the tables, each introduced by name on the walls. Visitors walk in without booking and order from a menu of coffee, cat-themed drinks, cookies, Japanese cheesecake and other desserts and snacks, and staff explain the house rules before guests meet the cats: no picking them up without permission and respect for their space. Children are welcome when parents make sure the rules are followed. Some of the cats are available for adoption through the cafe. Board games, drawing materials and plush-toy claw machines are on hand. It closes on Mondays and public holidays.

Il Gato Cat Café
Leon, Guanajuato111 mi / 179 km
Il Gato Cat Café is a rescue cat cafe on Valle de Atemajac in Valle del Campestre, in the north of León. It began as an extension of Fundación Pro Pet and works as a pre-adoption space, caring for around 30 rescued cats that live in two rooms: a front room with tables facing the street and a second lounge at the back. Visitors receive the house rules and hand sanitiser at the door, then order from a menu of coffee, frappés, shakes, ramen, burgers and sweet and savoury snacks, and can stay for several hours with the cats. Cat treats can be bought to feed them. Spending at the cafe funds the cats' care, and visitors who connect with a cat can apply to adopt it through the foundation. The cafe holds occasional kitten adoption days and themed evenings, and opens only in the evening from Wednesday to Saturday.

The menu centres on Mexican coffee, including café de olla, along with hot chocolate with toasted marshmallow, seasonal chamoyadas, cakes, crepes and vegan options, and the cafe sells cat-themed merchandise. Michi Cat Café
Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco122 mi / 196 km
Michi Cat Café opened in 2022 as the first cat cafe in Puerto Vallarta and sits on Calle Niza in the Versalles and Díaz Ordaz area, inland from the hotel zone. Its resident cat Mandarina is joined by rescued cats and kittens waiting for adoption, which the cafe places with homes in cooperation with local animal welfare groups, so the number of cats varies from visit to visit. It is a full cafe and restaurant serving breakfast, chilaquiles, burritos, salads, waffles, smoothies, ice cream and cat-themed coffees, with cat-shaped ice cubes and paw prints on some dishes. Guests are given a cat drawing to colour while they wait and can paint a mug or tote bag, play board games or browse a small shop of cat jewellery, T-shirts and mugs. Tables can be reserved online, and the cafe hosts cat-themed birthday parties. It closes on Mondays.

It opened on International Cat Day in August 2025 and keeps around 13 rescued cats of many colours and temperaments that roam freely among the tables. All of them are available for adoption: their names and profiles are posted on the walls, and adopters present an ID, proof of address and photos of the home, with follow-up by the city's animal protection institute (IMPA). The menu plays on cat names, from the CATpuchino and MEOWca to michi-molletes, salads, nachos and mini cakes, and there are board games for longer stays. House rules ask guests to let the cats come to them, and children must be accompanied by an adult. The cafe is open every day.

Dina's Cat Café
Santiago de Queretaro190 mi / 305 km
Dina's Cat Café is a small cat cafe in Plaza del Sur (local 22) on Boulevard Hacienda del Jacal, in El Jacal next to Jardines de la Hacienda in the south of Querétaro, beside a BBVA branch. Opened around the start of 2026 and run directly by its owners, it is home to the family's own rescued cats, who wander freely among the tables and climb onto chairs and laps. The cats are part of the household rather than adoption candidates. There is no separate entry fee: visitors order from a short menu of coffee, chai, frappés, baguettes, croissants and desserts and stay to spend time with the cats. The space is quiet and suited to reading or working. Children are welcome but must handle the cats gently, and the cafe hosts occasional workshops and themed events.
