Kitty Cat Cafe and Adoption Lounge is a nonprofit sanctuary where coffee meets compassion, founded by educators Cora and Uri Ducolon after years of inspiration from visiting 31 cat cafes nationwide. Partnered with PAWS Wakefield and PALS Animal Lifesavers, this cozy retreat hosts adoptable rescue cats—typically over 9 months old—in a spacious, clean lounge filled with sofas, toys, and beds, open Thursday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Tuesday to Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with additional evening slots based on staffing. Guests can enjoy baked treats and beverages (purchasable or BYO) while bonding with cats like Lex, a bow-tie-wearing senior, or playful brothers Bruno and Angelino, with adoption processes handled patiently by volunteer-run rescue partners. Featuring rigorous safety protocols, a quarantine room, and community events like sold-out Yoga with Cats, this 501c3 gem—mentored by cat cafe owners nationwide—offers a heartwarming space to relax, support feline welfare, and maybe find a forever friend, all within Peabody’s Big Pig BBQ Plaza.
