KattenKlap
KattenKlap is a cat adoption cafe run by a nonprofit on Knaptandstraat in Sint-Niklaas, in the Tereken area south of the centre, and the first of its kind in the Waas region. The entrance is through a large brown gate beside a butcher's shop, with free parking about 250 metres away by Tereken church and cemetery. The cats are former strays and other cats without a suitable home, placed through the rescue group Heartbeat4cats, and they live at the cafe until they are adopted. Visitors pay an entry contribution towards the cats' care and can order drinks and pastries. Visits run in time blocks of up to 20 people; booking is strongly advised but walk-ins are possible. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and cats may not be picked up. Interested adopters register their interest during a visit and follow an adoption procedure afterwards.

Kattencafé Katmosfeer is a cat cafe on Korte Nieuwstraat in the old centre of Antwerp, near the Hendrik Conscienceplein. Visitors enter through a locked double-door airlock, disinfect their hands and read the house rules at their table before meeting the cats. There is no entry fee, but each visitor orders at least one drink, or pays a small contribution instead. The menu has coffee, homemade iced tea, aperitifs and cakes. Visitors must be at least 12, the cats may not be picked up or fed, and booking is optional. Creative workshops are also held.

Catcafé Antwerp
Antwerp12 mi / 19 km
Catcafé Antwerp is a cat adoption cafe on Sint-Katelijnevest in the centre of Antwerp, just off the Meir shopping street. Opened in December 2023 as the city's first cat cafe, it does not keep permanent resident cats: all the cats come from shelters, stay in the cafe in a home-like setting and can be adopted once they are ready, and more than 130 have found homes this way. Adoption runs through the partner rescue Huppeldepup, which screens applicants before an official introduction, and every cat leaves vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and with a European pet passport. The cafe serves specialty coffee, homemade lemonade, cakes and lunch. There are no time slots or reservations; visitors simply walk in. Small-group workshops such as pottery painting, cat yoga and cat portrait painting are booked separately. It is open every day.

Katjen Aloe is a cat adoption cafe and gift shop on Molenstraat in the centre of Aalst, run by three cat lovers. It moved in the summer of 2026 from the Esplanadeplein to this larger building, which has an upstairs area for the kittens that visitors can look into at the end of their visit. The cats are shelter cats from the Ark van Pollare in Lennik, quarantined, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before they move in, and around 150 had been adopted by mid-2026. The cafe serves drinks, healthy snacks and pastries, with plant-based milk options, and the shop sells sustainable gifts by local artists. Visitors disinfect their hands on entering and follow a few house rules, and there is no time limit. Adopters meet the cats in the cafe and apply for a particular cat. Tables can be reserved.

Cats & Cups
Mechelen, Antwerp17 mi / 28 km
Cats & Cups is a cat adoption cafe on Désiré Boucherystraat in the centre of Mechelen, and the city's first cat cafe, opened in 2023. All its cats come from Pootjesparadijs, the animal shelter in Zemst, and roam freely through the cafe while they wait for new homes; kittens are often among them. The menu has specialty coffee from the Antwerp roaster Caffènation, other drinks, soup and cakes. It is a walk-in cafe, and reservations are taken only for groups of six or more, visitors with reduced mobility and those coming from far away. Guests disinfect their hands on arrival, let the cats approach them, do not pick them up or wake them, and stay out of the cats' private rooms. Books, colouring pages and games are provided, and workshops are held regularly. Adoptions are arranged by appointment over two meetings.

Lier, Antwerp19 mi / 30 km
Lierse Aaikes is a cat cafe on Rechtestraat in the centre of Lier. Visitors pass through a small shop at the front into the cafe, where a group of resident cats lives; shelter kittens also stay for a while until they are adopted, and a board shows which have found homes. A small entry contribution per person goes towards the cats' care, and a card for five visits is available. Tables are booked online in time slots, which keeps the room calm for the cats, and groups of three or more are advised to reserve, especially at weekends. DreamCATchers
Gent, East Flanders19 mi / 31 km
DreamCATchers is a nonprofit cat adoption cafe, cat shop and information point on Baudelokaai in Gent, beside the Baudelopark just north of the historic centre. Founded in 2016 and at this address since autumn 2023, it focuses on adult cats that have spent a long time in shelters, often because they are not yet social with people; the cats come from the Gent animal shelter, Kat Zoekt Thuis and Catpower, live in the cafe until adopted and are often rehomed in pairs. There are no kittens. The cafe seats up to 14 people to keep things calm, and booking a time slot is strongly recommended, as walk-ins are admitted only if there is room. Children are welcome if prepared for the house rules, and other animals are not allowed. Drinks and snacks support the partner shelters, and the shop and information point open on additional days.
