It opened on 13 March 2026 and is home to two resident ginger cats, Tofi and Mamut, who wander among the tables and come up to guests. MARKICIA is a cat cafe on ul. Rybacka in Elbląg's Old Town, opposite St Nicholas Cathedral. Owner Marta Piankowska opened it in February 2025 in a 130-square-metre space, and it is a foster home for about ten to twelve cats waiting for adoption, mostly from the Burasek foundation in Gdynia, with others from Elbląg groups such as Koty z Działek and Stowarzyszenie DaKota. Visitors are encouraged to meet a cat several times before adopting it. Guests ring a bell and staff open the door so no cat slips out, and the cats have a separate room where they can retreat. It is run with local cat shelters, and the cats who live here, including kittens, are looking for new homes.
