Femi & Ifeoma Cat Café
Femi & Ifeoma Cat Café is a cat cafe on Adetola Street in Aguda, Surulere, on the Lagos Mainland, and presents itself as the first cat cafe in Nigeria. It opened in mid-2026 and is run by Jason, a Lagos cat advocate known online as Jason the Cat Guy, who uses the space to challenge local superstitions about cats. The resident cats are pedigree cats kept in a calm, decorated lounge where guests can stroke, play with and feed them while learning about their personalities. Visits are by appointment only and are booked as timed sessions through the cafe's booking page or Instagram, with extra time available for a fee. Coffee and refreshments are served, and the space is also used for co-working and small events. House rules on handling the cats apply to all visitors.

Matcha't Café
Agadir, Souss Massa1853 mi / 2982 km
Matcha't Café calls itself the first cat cafe in Agadir. It sits in the Hotel Prestige in the Secteur Balnéaire, the beachfront hotel district a short walk from the corniche. The cafe serves matcha drinks, coffee, breakfast, brunch and light lunches such as croque-monsieur, with cakes in the afternoon. The resident cats and kittens live in a dedicated cat room next to the dining area, which guests can enter to play with and stroke them, so the cats can also retreat from visitors. There is no separate entry fee; visitors order from the menu. The cafe is open every day from morning until late evening, and the hotel location makes it an easy stop for visitors staying in the seafront area.

La Gatería Miaumigo
Santa Cruz De Tenerife, Canary Islands1986 mi / 3197 km
La Gatería Miaumigo is a cat cafe in the Duggi neighbourhood of central Santa Cruz de Tenerife, on Calle Álvarez de Lugo. Opened in February 2026 as the first cat cafe in the Canary Islands, it works as an anticafé: visitors pay for their time rather than for drinks, and coffee, tea, water and Wi-Fi are included, while guests may bring their own food. The cats are rescues, around a dozen of them, and all are looking for homes; adoptions are arranged with the owner after an assessment of the new home. Visitors swap their shoes for slippers and wash their hands before going in, and house rules ask people not to wake, lift or feed the cats. Children from 6 are welcome with an adult. Board games, books and sockets make it popular for remote work. Visits are booked online, and hour bundles and monthly memberships are available.

Heycat Coffee Shop
Algiers2090 mi / 3364 km
Heycat opened in September 2025 in Hydra, on the heights of Algiers, and was the first cat cafe in Algeria. Its resident cats roam freely through a cosy room decorated on a feline theme down to the smallest details, and guests can stroke and photograph them while they eat. The menu names every drink and dessert after cats, from the cat-puccino to a cat-shaped flan, alongside matcha, Spanish lattes, bubble tea, toasts and cakes. There is no separate entry fee; visitors order from the menu. The cafe has since moved into a larger room, and it is popular with families and students, so the cats are best approached gently and left alone when they are sleeping. It opens from breakfast until late evening, and from mid-afternoon on Fridays.
