Cats Café
Cats Café is a cat cafe on the fourth floor of the Sun City shopping centre on Strada Pușkin in central Chișinău. Opened in 2018 as the first cat cafe in the city, it is laid out around the floor in two parts: a dining area without cats and a closed room where the resident cats live, many of them pedigree cats with veterinary passports. The kitchen serves a full menu of breakfasts, pancakes, main dishes, coffee and lemonades, and the cafe is popular with families and children. There is no entry fee, but each guest is expected to order a minimum amount. Visitors clean their hands on arrival and are asked not to feed the cats, wake sleeping cats or chase them. Booking is optional, though recommended for groups of four or more. The cafe is open every day.

Its cats were evacuated from frontline towns in eastern Ukraine, including Druzhkivka in Donetsk Oblast, and all are sterilised and vaccinated before joining the cafe, where they live while waiting for adoptive families. Adopters fill in a questionnaire and are screened by the volunteers. Guests sit in three small rooms with about ten tables, walls painted by Odesa artists and climbing furniture for the cats, which also have a private room of their own. La Mâțe

La Mâțe is a rescue cat cafe in Botoșani, part of the TrioVet veterinary clinic complex on Strada I.C. Brătianu. It was opened in January 2025 by two local vets, Dănuț Bratu and Daniel Bejinariu, as a home for cats they had rescued, many of them from serious injuries or neglect. More than 100 sterilised cats live across about ten rooms, several cats to a room, and visitors move between the rooms with a drink from the snack bar. Entry depends on available space. Lint rollers and a sink for washing hands are provided. Visitors who form a bond with a cat can apply to adopt it, although many of the residents, including cats with disabilities, are long-term residents. The cafe also hosts talks on animal care. It is closed on Mondays for cleaning and to give the cats a rest.

CatCafe Khvostyky

Red Cat Cafe
