Cats & Friends
Cats & Friends is a cat cafe in the Chilanzar district of Tashkent, in the 3rd quarter next to the city prosecutor's office, a short walk from Novza metro station. Opened in February 2024 as the first cat cafe in Uzbekistan, it moved from Akkurgan Street in Mirzo Ulugbek district to a larger space here in May 2026. More than 20 cats live in the cafe, most of them from the Milye Koshki shelter, and many are waiting for new homes; the cafe also runs a monthly virtual adoption scheme. It works as an anticafe, so visitors pay for their time rather than for food, and entry includes unlimited tea and coffee, board games, books, a PlayStation and Wi-Fi. Staff explain the rules to new guests, cats are not to be picked up, and young children must come with an adult. A small shop sells cat-themed souvenirs. Open daily.
