Cat Cafe Yuzu
Cat Cafe Yuzu is a reservation-only cat cafe in a converted house in Sunayama, Hanyu, about three minutes on foot from the Sunayama Shukaijo-mae bus stop in rural northern Saitama. The owner lives with around 16 cats, taken in from acquaintances who could no longer keep them or rescued by the owner; there are no purebred cats or kittens, and the cafe does not rehome its cats. Visitors spend time with the cats in a Japanese-style tatami room that feels like a private home, and a terrace seating area lets guests watch the cats sunbathe and look out at wild birds. Only bottled drinks are served. The cafe takes at most two groups a day, booked by phone or LINE, and socks are required. It is closed on Mondays, during Obon and over the New Year holidays.
